EDIT: I’m working at Camp Shelby again. This time at Youth Challenge, which is a pretty decent job so far. Looking forward to getting the chance to get to know my old stomping grounds again. |

| I see billboards advertising for the chicken processing plants in Laurel and Collins, but I don’t know if you want to go that route. What kind of industry are you in/work skills do you have? There may be something off-the-wall in the area you might fit into. |

Not really interested in entry level work as a chicken internal parts remover. I’m looking at military positions or related fields in the area. I’ve got 19 years and a bit in the Guard, with roughly 13.5 years of active duty mobilizations, deployments and a couple of years doing PMC work in Kabul and Kandahar Airfield. I’ve got some direct sales experience and I’ve worked as a gunsmith in two different shops in the Dallas area. |

You mention sales experience, I had a buddy from Hattiesburg that did sales for a company that sold to large chemical plants in the Hattiesburg area. I know that is super vague but I'll try to find the company name. He died from the Covid last year or else I would ask him directly. Also, would you be interested in moving to the coast or working in Slidell and living in pearl river county ms? There's a ton of work and Hattiesburg is straight up 59 form there ETA: Hill manufacturing inc and MI fluid power solutions are the companies he worked for in the last couple years in and around the Hattiesburg area |

My job search has been over for a while now, and I've found employment with a US State Department contract entity called Triple Canopy, and we are hiring for contracts all over the world. Right now, they're pulling people in for Baghdad, South Sudan, Ukraine and I've heard another company is hiring for gold convoy security in Indonesia. It's mostly armed protective security, but they have stateside jobs as well. If you have at least one overseas deployment and three years in a combat arms MOS, OR experience in law enforcement SWAT/SRT, Paramedic or designated marksman type jobs, the overseas contract jobs are the best option. It's a lot better than chicken internal parts reorganizer, I'll tell you that! |

To put my last post in perspective, the PSS guys (shooters) here make $412 per day, and the Medics make $825 per day. We get return-to-work bonuses if we return to project and remain compliant with all directives and standards. There are other contracts in different areas paying as much, or more. Central African Republic contractors are receiving $500 - $550 a day. Not terrible money, but the living conditions are…spartan. Theres not a lot of jobs in the US where guys can put their military skill sets to use and get paid six figures, so it’s worth considering, especially if you are single, fit, and have some relevant experience. |

The latest news in contracting is the UG Solutions gig in Gaza, happening now. $1000 a day for experienced military/law enforcement guys with some deployment experience. $1200 a day for qualified medics. I’m giving this one serious thought, myself. |
