Just wanted to let people know about the great service we received from JD Machine in San Diego.
We met Eric from JD at the gun show in Palm Springs last month. We asked if they could make custom seriel numbers on their AR lower receivers. No problem, but could take up to 4 weeks. We agreed and ordered two lowers, one with our new Grand  daughters initials and birth date for a seriel number and one with the Air Force logo. (I'm ex Air Force)
About a week later I called to get an idea when they might be ready, and was surprised when I was told they were done! We made the trip to San Diego to pick them up, then realised we were a day too early on the 10 day waiting period. Both our faults, but not really a big deal. Eric took the time and showed us around the machine shop and how all their products are made. He made it a great day and well worth the trip.
We returned yesterday, the 4th, to pick up our order, and was pleasently surprised when Eric gave us not just our lowers, but two free upper receivers and two t-shirts for our trouble!
Excellent products and service. They make products for other labels also, such as Spikes and Noveske.
Great to have such excellent service and products made locally. We'll definately be doing business with them again.

I am glad you are happy with it, I was just looking at JD lowers yesterday and trying to decide wether to go with them or Spikes for a lower. I Want one with an Eagle Globe and Anchor. Looks like I should give them a call.

They make the lowers for Spikes Tactical, so you can't go wrong with either one.  I think they just have different companies that do the anodizing, because the spikes I've seen seem to have a thicker shell than the my JD roll marked lowers.

I don't notice a difference in thickness between my Spikes and JD anodizing, but the JD is a little less "glossy?" I like the looks of the JD a little more, but that's just personal preference. It looks great with their matching upper!

If I just got 2 free uppers with my lowers from a company, yea, I think I'd like looks of those lowers more too. Sounds like a good company.

Guess who also makes uppers and lowers for Noveske and Franklin Armory?

I'm very impressed with the fit and finish of these receivers. I also own Spikes, Stag(both very good), and Roggio Arsenal (garbage) receivers. I'm waiting for a few parts for my granddaughters rifle, then she can have it in about 18 more years.

I met the owner two years ago outside of SoCal guns, he was a pretty nice guy.

I was aware of this from Calguns, but really did'nt care about what happened in the past. The people running the company now are great, and having a gun manufacturing facility in CA is a rare thing.
I will continue to buy from them and look forward to seeing them at the next gun show. If you happen to see them at a show near you, stop in and say hi. I think you'll like the people and their products. I know I did.
