I’m from Texas and I am licensed in Texas. I have NFA items but I understand that they are not legal for me to possess unless I get another specific license. I will be getting an air bnb while I’m there. I will be there for 2+ months more than likely but not more than 6. Can I bring a handgun and a 16” ar since I already own them and I’m licensed in my home state? From what I gather laws vary in specific counties. |

Not sure about ranges in Champaign, but Darnalls in Bloomington was fun when I lived there in the 90s. Pretty sure it's still there. Champaign is the only place I've ever been beaten unconscious and robbed, and it didn't appear to be any safer in certain areas when I took my dog to the vet school last spring. I'd try to get a little intel on the neighborhood if I was to get an AirBnB there just in case. |

I looked at the crime maps around a few weeks ago. Seems most of the crime is in the north side and the north east. |

| From what I can see so far. Is due to me having a concealed handgun license in Texas and being a Texas resident. I can carry in my own personal vehicle a loaded firearm (handgun) I just cannot carry it in public. |

Darnall's is definitely still there, near Bloomington (technically Danvers). There is also CI Shooting Sports (indoor range) in Bloomington. Closer to you, this is a popular place if you like streak and salad https://beefhouserolls.com/. I'll second Papa Dells for pizza. La Bamba's is decent for made in front of you burritos. If you get bored on a Saturday morning, a Decent little LGS is in Leroy, IL, Guns and Glory. I'm north of Bloomington if you need anything. |

I built most of the premier coop elevator in sidney. I'm close too. Depends on which cop you run into, most of em are cool but there's always a wild card in the bunch. Champaign is only bad in the rough neighborhoods, stay outta the hood and you will be fine. I've never felt in danger there, but I'm a bigger guy and I'm usually there with my buddies or family. If you look like someone they shouldn't fuck with they usually don't. Handgun 15 rounds, shotgun or levergun if you think you need it. I still roll around with my evil unregistered black guns........ any other county and you'd be fine. Champaign is full of libs and democrats though. |

The incident that happened to me was walking home from a bar on Green St to my apartment by the football stadium. Been a long time since I kept up with current events in Champaign but back then it was very common for hood rats to move into the campus area Friday and Saturday nights. |
| If you want to bring a semi auto rifle a Ruger Mini 14 ranch (not the tactical), M1 Garand, some SKS, or M1 Carbine are all ok as well (no folding or collapsing stocks). |
