Found a bunch of bugs running along my baseboard.  Not to sure what they are, at first I thought termite, but they don't look like any of the pictures online of termites.  They are really small so it was hard to get a good picture but this is about the best that I got.  There are two sizes of bugs together, but I am not sure if they are the same bug or not.  Any help and how to get rid of them would be much appreciated.

Don't mind the dog hair as these were right by his cage.

GF, she's an entomologist, say's they're ants eating something larger but can't tell what from the photo.

She say's to use any perimeter/barrier insecticide spray.

Any recommendations on a perimeter spray that is not bad for a dog?  Or if something is really effective, how long do I need to keep my dog away from it?  Thanks for the help.

I use home defense and hit everything. Inside and out windows, corners, and behind everything. Just keep the pets off of it while it's wet. That's what the label says and my dog isn't dead and we don't have ants toting of dead roach carcasses. Lol gl.

Seems to last about 6 months but I do it about 3-4.

.
Lambda 9.3 CS
Mix per instructions in backpack sprayer and spray from ground 3 feet up outside walls and on ground 3 feet out into yard (making a barrier).
Then inside, take a small hand held sprayer from Walmart or a one gallon sprayer and do all baseboards, cracks, and crevices in the home as well as behind large appliances like fridge and W&D. Repeat every 4 to 6 months.
