| I purchased a handgun for my wife last Christmas. She has asked if she can keep the weapon with her. I was wondering if I need to / should tranfer ownership from my name to her name and how is this done in Mississippi. |

I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV (or on the internet), but my understanding is that the gun is just like her wristwatch or purse. Nobody cares who bought it. The state does not keep records on ownership. We also can carry most anywhere except schools and actual court rooms (when court is in session) without a carry permit and without any hassle. A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.
