 U.S. Police Department First to Use Arabic Patch For the last 80 years, I've been here in Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland, Ohio is impressively diverse—over 100 distinct nationalities and ancestries are represented among its residents. This includes large communities with German, Irish, Scots, English, Puerto Rican, Italian, Polish, and African American heritage, as well as smaller groups from places like Slovakia, Lebanon, Nigeria, Cambodia, and even Iceland. Many more as well. The city’s rich immigrant history is reflected in everything from its neighborhoods and churches to its food scene and cultural festivals. It’s like a living mosaic of global roots stitched into the Rust Belt. No police patch here is in any other language except ENGLISH. Q: Why would an American city place a foreign language on their police patches? Inquiring minds want to know! Help me out. |
| Dearborn has the largest Arab community in the world outside of the middle east. I've lived in Romulus, Inkster and have friends that are Arab and never once had a problem. When I lived there they was not radical but decent people. You don't hear anything jumping off over there so what do I care if they have a dual lingual patch. |
