The car chase in South Houstin where the 23 year old girl was killed

It was another one of our fine Katrina victims that was driving
the stolen car that hit her.
what can you do? If you don't chase then all the turds will
know if you just run from the cops you will get away with anything....
Just a shame. And now the media will make the cops be the culprits.
I pray for her family

Sorry about the girl and your brother.  He needs to realize that it isn't his fault that the fleeing subject killed the girl.

When a subject unlawfully flees police he is responsible for any accidents, injuries, or damage that result.

It's not your brother's fault.

My younger brother was the cop who initiated the chase....

Look man, your brother should never chase a perp.   Perps have rights.   Cops are just hell bent on catching bad guys.   It's just crazy how the LEO's are out to catch bad guys.  It's almost like that's what they are paid to do!   These LEO's are just getting out of hand trying to protect the rest of us.  I'm just fed up with it.  I think they should just lay off.   If they would quit trying to protect us good guys all the time, no one would get hurt.   It's a no brainer.   Just quit trying to catch the bad guys and all will be well.  No one will be in danger.   There is no way it is the bad guy/girls fault that people get hurt.  If we would just let them commit their crimes, we would all be safe.

The answer is this:   Let them go, look in the phone book and see where they live (because we all know that works) and go look for them a few days later after the perp has calmed down a little bit and commits a few more crimes.  That way, the LEO can just knock on the door and the perp will say hello and give himself/herself up.   I just don't understand why isn't standard practice!

Granted I don't know all of the details invovled, but assuming your brother was following protocol, it was not his fault.   It is a terrible thing that happened, but do we just let the bad guys go?   Your brother is in my prayers as well as the poor girl who didn't ask to have a scum bag run into her.  Your brother should understand that he did not cause  the perp to flee, nor did he ask for this to happen.  If he was doing what he was trained to do, he did nothing wrong.   Your brother didn't make the perp break the law.   He was doing what he beleived was right.   Was his intention to hurt more folks? Probably not.   Again, it was a terrible tragedy but at the same time, he was doing what he was supposed to do.

(disclaimer:  I don't know all of the details of the case.  If the LEO was doing something wrong, then my opinion would change, however, if he was following protocol, it was a terrible unfortunate accident)

I salute our LEO's and our military.  These folks are risking their lives every day to protect YOU and ME.

This is the BS that is wrong with the Houston area.  The news had a body count of 3 before I turned it off last night.  These refugees and criminal ailiens are rising crime everywhere.  Then a woman is killed in a chase, its not the officers fault, its the criminals fault.  Now the stupid sheeple want something done.  OK, stop people from commiting crime.  It just pisses me off.  I am leaving Houston as soon as I can.......

ETA:  Sorry, I vented a little....

Good job to the LEO's.

Having lost an uncle and friend to police chases, I understand their pain but tell your brother it's not his fault.  He didn't steal the car or run from the police, or t-bone an innocent bystander.
