That page link has number of registered drivers, which may be a more accurate portrayal of those that CAN carry.

For example, STL county has 706,095 licensed drivers that are old enough to carry. There are 15,682 permits in STL county. A whopping 2.22% of St. Louis County drivers have CCW permits.

4,019,878 drivers state-wide old enough to carry, 132,355 permits issued state-wide. ~3.3% of the driving population has a CCW permit.

I made a PDF-format spreadsheet (also an excel version) of percentages of people with CCW's in each county. Problem is, I have nowhere to host it. One of you care to host it for me, as a reference?

Here's the pdf I made up. The first column of numbers is the total # of permits issued in the county. The second column is the total population of that county. The last column represents the percentage of the population in that county that has permits.

Thanks to giltweasel for hosting it

To save you the effort, Marion county has the largest percentage of CCW holders in the state, St. Louis City has the lowest.

Thanks for doing that!

I note Marion Co is on the border with Illinois just across from Quincy IL.
I've heard that Quincy is a crappy town but have never been there.

Now if we could see a report of monthy crimes committed by county, compare numbers, we could look for trends.

I know a few folks that are not done with their citizenship so they carry on a Utah or Florida permit.  That's a stupid oversight in our law IMHO.

Have to wait 6 months in MO assuming that's what he was talking about. I have a Florida permit and never plan on getting a MO permit, I was under the impression it was not needed.

This, the 6 month MO residency requirement was removed in either 2011 or 2010. Basically as soon as you can prove residency in this state you can apply

By land area it's one of the highest with 50 per square mile, while St. Louis county has 30 per square mile, and the state average is 2 per square mile.  Yet it has one of the lowest rate per head.

Back a few post, it was noted about out of state permits. As I heard it, Utah will no longer be one of those out of state permits. Cant for the life of me remember, but I think it Utah no longer wants to issue permits to non-residents.

Utah will no longer issue permits to out of state residents, unless they already possess a permit issued by their own state.  So for us MO residents, the only benefit is being able to carry in Wisconsin on a UT permit.  For $5, I'll keep renewing it every 5 yrs.

PA also works in WI, but I they make you apply/renew in person now, so that's dead on renewal for me.

I get over there at least once a week. We should get together to shoot in WP or my place here in Theodosia.

Ok, fine they will allow you to get a Utah as long as you have a MO permit. The point here delorean is that you will need to get a mo permit and that is the point that someone earlier said that he wondered how many people actually have a permit, just not a mo permit. Now those who do not have a mo permit but a Utah will have to get a mo permit or a Fla permit, or has Fla closed the back door like Utah?

Florida is still good to go and technically speaking, they do not issue "non resident permits".  They simply have no requirement in the law that you must reside in Florida.
