Printer died the other day.

Ordered a cheap inkjet but it hasn't arrived yet.  Just cancelled the order.

Are there any colour laser printers out there worth considering?

Thanks

A decent colour laser is going to cost you a bit but Brother are offering some good cash back offers at the moment.  My last Colour Laser was a HP and served me well for 4 years and 3 toner changes (one was a refill and to be honest I think ended up degrading the machines performance).  So I got one of these delivered on Saturday:

Brother MFC Laser

Its clear some space in my office as I've now ditched the scanner, the deal clincher for me as the automatic duplex printing.

Epson C1100 does me fine...

We now have an absolute beast of a Minolta printer in the office, cost many k. However before that we used HP printers, they always lasted much longer than the cheaper makes that we tried (Samsung, Brother, Canon). Bearing in mind that we produce thousands of pages of print every week, YMMV.

What's the phrase you guys like, buy once cry once.

Another vote for the Epson C1100. Not a photo-quality image but if you'd originally ordered a cheap inkjet I guess that isn't important.

Having said that, a guy I worked with years ago bought one only to find his brother using it to print off ridiculous amounts of porn. Apparantly the image quality was surprisingly good

If I was going for a colour laser I'd try and get the C1100N variant, as it's network capable.

You'll feel like you're being raped by the toner prices at first but generally it works out as more economical than a comparable quality inkjet.

Thanks for the answers so far.

I do want one that will do scanning, copying and double sided printing in colour.

Can you print photos on lasers, I mean on the glossy photo type paper?

But will you ever do it?
