Hello all, I just picked up a BCM 11.5 upper that I plan to build into a pistol. Somewhat newer to SC so figured I would ask here. Is there anything I need to be aware of, when building this pistol in SC? I will probably pick up a PSA Stripped lower and a SB Tactical Brace and just go the pistol route. I don't really see the benefit of going the SBR Route, as from what I can see you have to still engrave your lower, and if you leave the state you need a permission slip from the ATF - so why not just Pistol it? Although I will be putting a Suppressor on it at some point. Also, I am aware that a vertical grip is a no-no. Would running one of these be OK? Much appreciated. |
As far as I'm aware you should be fine although there is that new video with the ATF director saying they'd prosecute for something or another, add on charge or something, I didn't really pay any attention.  On pistols, you aren't suppose to use a vertical grip, so what you posted should be fine as the retarded rules are written. I use the BCM Gunfighter Vertical Grip, because it isn't actually 90 degrees. I use them on several guns including a Mossberg 500 but I have reduced range of motion in my left wrist so it's a work around for me.

Hard to keep up with the retardation. |
