| Can a NON Nevada resident obtain a blue card by going to a metro station to do a transfer? |
|
No, that's not correct.
Residents have 72 hours to register a firearm. Non-residents must do so within 60 days of becoming residents. http://www.lvmpd.com/permits/firearms_registration.html |

So a non .Mil will have to be a resident before Metro will issue a blue card? Residence has nothing to with getting a "blue card". I have two I got for for carry guns before the 60 residence requirement was passed. Both have California addresses on them. |

Quoted: So a non .Mil will have to be a resident before Metro will issue a blue card? NO! As a former "seasonal resident" I had no difficulty what so ever getting blue cards from metro. I merely had to give an address, not even prove the address! (Was living with Mother in Law at the time.) |

We need to get rid of this blue card SHIT it is an infringement on our 2nd Amendment right! And as soon as we get rid of it, we get the joy of the three day waiting period. Since our CCW is not considered "bona fide documentary evidence [...] that he currently owns a pistol which is duly registered in his name with any law enforcement agency in Clark County". In other words, unless we get section 12.04.080 of the Clark County Codes repealed (unlikely) or section 12.04.090 modified to allow "CCW" as an exception to the 72 hour rule, when the blue cards vanish, we get to pretend we're Californians and wait for our guns. -Caver |

Cash and carry. Blue Card or not. |

The 72 hour wait for handgun purchases doesn't apply in Henderson. Cash and carry. Blue Card or not. Which will be really nice for gunshops in Henderson. If blue cards go away before 12.04.080/12.04.090 are adjusted, we'll going to see a lot of gunshops close their doors. Looking in the phonebook, only 25% of the valley's gunshops are in Henderson. Who here will still buy a handgun from a gunshop where they will need to wait 72 hours to pick it up, when they can easily drive 15-30 minutes and pick it up same day? Instead of calling for the elimination of blue cards, we need to be calling for getting the waiting period removed from the rest of the valley, or at least get CCW's good for avoiding the waiting period and NICS check again. Removing the blue cards is a bad thing unless we tackle that issue first. -Caver |
