| I used to live in the OC. I left around '96. After a brief time on the central coast my family ended up in Oregon. Anyways, I was just wondering what it's like down there now? Has it gotten worse? I remember it as a place where a lot of rich people lived and constantly building new houses. Are there tent cities or anything now? |
| Not too far away. I'd say continued growth of housing, businesses, same sort of mixes, just filling things in, growth into some of the hill areas. Still trending on the upper side of things. Has drifted left some politically. Probably done a somewhat better job of dealing with "homeless," given the rather inept desire at the state level to be effective. I'd probably say it would seem more of the same and more crowded. |

There's still a lot of rich people, especially in South County, Irvine, and Tustin. I was in Huntington Beach/Costa Mesa last week and it all looks the same and maybe even better. Last year I went to a funeral service in Santa Ana and it looks way better than it did in the 90's. There's some homeless here and there, but "tent cities"? Nah. Maybe in some vacant lot somewhere. There was a little tent shelter thing I remember seeing off the 91 and Harbor a couple of years ago, but it's all gone now. Damn, I spend a lot of time in OC. I'll be in Brea later today. Pretty sure it hasn't changed either. Orange County is really f#(king nice

Both of her siblings had already moved here and they both were on welfare after moving here. So we moved here and there's tent cities everywhere and when I say I just want to move back to Orange county she says ",oh I'm sure it's like this everywhere now". I'm glad to hear Orange county isn't totally screwed. |

OC is nice. South OC is nice$t. Only tent city I ever heard about was the one on the river by Anaheim Stadium, but that got removed. There are homeless around, but nothing at all like LA. LA is a shit hole just don't go east of the 405 or west of the 605. |
