I live in a newer build in west valley . Had ants in my kitchen yesterday and found out they were coming in from a crack behind the stove . I caulked up the crack on the outside and cleaned everything up inside and it seemed to work.
Outside the house is a different problem . I have gravel backyard and on the side of the house where they were coming in , I'll kick the rocks in random spots and see ants flee like crazy . How the heck do I find the hill under gravel ??? I got a bag of Terro granules and spread some around. I'll wait and see how that works . Any other ideas ? |

The granules should knock them down, but I'd do a perimeter spray of the house and property/fenceline.
I use a product called "CyKick" for outside, and "suspend SC" for interior. Setting baits out as well can help locate a nest for spot spraying. (ETA- Just checked, and the current indoor product is "Suspend Polyzone", not SC. Still seems to work as well) |

Amdro is the most effective ant bait out there. Get a 1 pound bottle and it will last years. Use it around the perimeter of your yard and treat mounds with a half a teaspoon or so and they are gone. Works better if your neighbors will let you do their yard too. Amdro is the way to go, they'll pick it up and carry into the colony. Kills the queen which is your primary target. |
