Well, then you'll have a half case of Tannerite each to shoot up. If you want to come and shoot, then come and shoot. What difference does it make if there's 25 people or 2500 people? The bottom line is we have no idea how many people will attend - this is the first time we've done this. I've provided all the info that I can at this time. Because we can have a shoot that size and NOT drive 9 hours each way. 99.9% of the people are coming from out of town I'm guessing. And don't get me wrong, I am excited about going, but as time has been going on I was hoping to hear more news about this other then what was posted so many months ago. |

Hmm. I check this thread 2 or 3 times per month to see if there's new info, announcements, etc. I learn something new every time I check it. Latest news - It sounds like the EC crew has already sold over 25 positions. Not bad for a new shoot. Congrats to EK and his colleagues on doing a fine job of organizing a shoot. I paid for my position months ago, and look forward to meeting everyone. The ECSA website was very informative, and this thread has also been helpful in keeping up with developments as the date nears. Although I'm new to Oregon, I wasn't aware of any other organized Oregon MG / DD shoots with formalized advance reservations; RSO's; rentals; camping; portalets; set-up days; shoot schedule; organized spectator admissions; tannerite and other downrange targets provided; designated coordinator who will answer any question you have either by email, phone, or internet forum; list of nearby lodging options with event discounts; list of gun rental providers; established number of positions with updates of those already sold; etc. If they exist, someone please forward some info on them; I'm interested in attending those shoots as well. In the mean time, I personally am very appreciative of the time and effort put into this shoot by the organizers, and I look forward to meeting them as well as everyone else in this little community come June. My inventory of guns isn't what it used to be, but I'll bring a Lahti and a few other small toys. If I finish my chair-mount in time, I'll have a nearly recoilless seated-shooting platform: kind of ugly but fun and accurate. Come on out and try it. |
In defense of WS4LIF (He may seem a bit "obtuse" ), You guys are taking pre-orders for line spaces and day passes. Would it be possible to use that as a ballpark count of the number of attendees? I'm sure that will be around the minimum since many will simply get their day-passes at the event.

Were there camping spaces avalible? If so were they needing to be reserved or could you get one just by showing up? Me and some friends want to come down, pitch some tents and make a weekend of it. Would this be possible? ETA: oh yeah, could I bring my AR, and a few other things just to plink with or whould that just be stupid? |
Camping spaces will be available. $25 per space. You are welcome to bring whatever you want to shoot, though you'll either need to rent a firing line space or use the space of someone who has already rented one. |

Yeah, we have 2 camping spots reserved as well. I think my wall tent will pretty much take up one of them, so the rest of you can fight over what ever is left over

This just plain sucks. We are right fucking next door to Oregon but yet, no full auto nor supressor fun. GRRR. I always thought OR was far more tree hugging liberal than WA, which perhaps they are, but at least the legislators have some common sense about what law abiding citizens can and can't do.  you guys have a great time at that shoot!

Well, it's 8:30 and I'm damn near all the way packed. All I have to do is load clothes, sleepin bag, 6 rifles and the 2.5K of assorted ammo I'm haulin and go to bed!
