Don't you mean, the trigger spring is actually a non-issue when it comes to trigger pull? I am under the impression, that the firing pin spring, and the connector are what control trigger pull feel. I have removed the trigger spring all together in order to check a failure to trigger reset problem, and when I did, the actual trigger pull was not any different than with the spring installed. |
While the firing pin spring and the connector play the biggest roll in trigger pull(feel). The trigger spring removes about 1.5-2lbs of trigger pull as it assists you in pulling the trigger. Testing some of the Glocks I've own over the years, when the trigger spring is removed it adds 1-2lbs when tested with a trigger pull gauge. My 2nd gen G21 with a stock firing pin spring and a standard connector, with the trigger spring removed increases from #5.5(average over 5 tests) to #6.11 average.

You don't need to change your firing pin spring. The connector is available in 3 different pulls or "Weights". Standard is 5.5#. There is also a 3.5# (Standard in 34, 35, 24) and 8#. In addition to the connector, you have 3 different spring options. The standard silver colored coil spring visible under the trigger bar gives you the trigger pulls mentioned above with those connectors. You can add the infamous NY trigger which is a heavier leaf spring with any of those connectors for a pull upwards of 15#! NY 1 is O.D. green NY 2 is Orange and not to be used with 8# connector. This is the heaviest spring available and not only good for making the trigger impossible to pull... The Glock OEM 3.5# connectors are available all over the web. $20 or so. If you are looking for a slightly lighter pull, keep the coil spring and change to the 3.5# connector. www.armstrongsarmory.com |
