I'll 2nd the S&W 39xx series.  I prefer their 3rd Gen half cock DAO, so mine's a 3953.

It would help if you tell us what you want the pistol for. Is it a range toy, looking for a thin carry piece or something for pocket carry?

Jesus, nobody has said a Hi Power yet?  Come on y'all.....

Edit-Alright, not single stack.  But thin, if that's what you're going for.

It will be for off duty carry so it has to be reliable.

My brother recently purchased one of these for concealed carry. (I was amazed at how thin and light it was.) He has been very pleased with it so far, you should check it out.

A friend of mine went to a 3 day handgun course and his PPS failed bad, it kept failing so much that the instructors loaned him a glock.... FYI

I know he has took it to the range a couple times and didn't have any problems, but I will mention this to him. Thanks for the heads up.

Anyone know if Bersa is still going to bring out that polymer single stack 9mm?  Looked like a pretty sweet little gun.

Kahr K9 DLC finish

The stainless frame gives the pistol some weight, so it handles hot 9mm like a full size pistol, not like one of the snappy micro guns.

I have one I got for $250 in great shape. Its a nice pistol, but its hard to recommend it with the fact the extra mags are so hard to come by. And I dont mean the pro mag crap, I mean actual Sig mags.

Haven't had any problem finding them. They are just expensive.

I have seen a few here and there, but with most modern handguns you can buy extra mags from many sources. I am a mag whore. I admit it. I have to have at least 6 mags for every gun I own, and I own 25 for my G22 and thats the only handgun I feel comfortable with the number of mags I have.

Much better grip than later generation single stack Smiths, also higher fit and finish...Very CZ like melt in your hand grip and they are fairly cheap.....
