bought a gen 3 17/22 conversion on gunbroker this week for $297 (shipping included) which i thought was a pretty decent price.  it was delivered today (much to my surprise and delight).

polished the feed ramp with flitz right away.  the original finish wasn't bad but i like my feed ramps shiny smooth.

liberally oiled the recommended areas with slip 2000.

installed on a g35 frame.

loaded my only mag (others are on the way) with federal bulk pack.  a big NO NO according to AA.  well, i don't have an remy golds so i thought i'd give it a try.  worst case, stove pipe city right?

this thing runs like a top!!!!  it is so awesome.  i only put about 50 rounds through it today but slow fire or as fast as i could pull the trigger without a single hiccup.  accuracy was good too.  damn close to right on with about a 2" group at a 20 foot steel swinger off hand.

i'll run it more tomorrow but only having 1 mag right now sucks.

i think this might be more fun than the sig 1911-22.

my only complaint is the gun is too light.  i'm going to have to figure out how to add weight to the frame for a more realistic feel.  might have to break down and buy a light.

my $.02, if you're thinking of getting one of these, don't hesitate.  what a great way to practice trigger control on the cheap.  I'm grinning like a damn Cheshire cat and i can't stop it.

Wouln't it be nice if you could get a Peters Stahl conversion for Glocks.
Best conversions I've seen lately are the Marvel 1911 and the CZ75 Kadett which I wouldn't be surprised if it ws made by Peters Stahl.
In the 80s They had ones for S&W, Browning HP, Sig, and a few others.  They all were designed so the bolt and slide were a two piece assembly so they would function as a direct blowback.
Much like Marvel or the older Kart conversions.

The unit is brand new.  I put 50 more rounds through it today (old remington standard velocity lead nose) before the snow started and then turned to freezing rain.  50 rounds, no hiccups.  Slow fire, double taps, one full mag dump as fast as I could pull the trigger.  I guess I got lucky with this unit.

Glad to hear yours ran from round 1. I had to break mine in with tons of remington golden bbs. Its finally now getting used to 36 grain HV stuff. Intially it seemed like it only ran with 40 grain HV stuff (1260 fps). The 36 grain HV stuff (@1240 to 1260) just didnt have the umph intially to get the slide moving consistantly. Took about a 1000 rounds to get it broken in. I just bought a brand new Gen 3 G17/22 conversion kit so hopefully it runs like yours.

I do run it wet.

Good luck with your 17/22 kit.
