im torn between a 2" and 3". will be adding an optic so i had AI create these images with a Holosun EPS carry on them. images arent exactly right but pretty close. which do you prefer? Attached File Attached File |

| If you're going to add an optic, you should go with the 4" version IMHO. The added muzzle velocity will make the extra barrel length worth it. It's also going to balance better. I've got three King Cobras a 3", 4.25" in 357 plus a 4.24" 22rf, along with a 3" Viper. My favorite shooter is the 3" Viper. |

| IMO, 3" and 5" are the correct lengths for revolvers (for most calibers anyway). Neither was available when I got my KCT .22 so I split the difference and got the 4.25" model. |

Just got myself a Colt King Cobra 3in Stainless. Always wanted a Colt revolver. I can't believe I paid over $1100 OTD for it. Just came back from the range. Put about 400 rds thru it. I am underwhelm to say the least. Ammo was, CCI SV, Federal Champion Bulk, Federal Auto Match, CCI Mini Mags, and Aguila Super Extra HV. Accuracy was OK. I was expecting better, but maybe I was expecting to much. My tightest grouping was with CCI SV followed by Federal Auto Match. Only shot out to 15 yards max. Double action pull was heavier than the 8lbs the interweb was reporting. Felt more like 10 - 12lbs. Single action was crisp and to my liking. Surprisingly I shot my tightest group in double action. Federal Auto Match and Aguila Super Extra HV was stuck in the cylinder. Hurt my hand trying to pound it out. I had to put a rag over the ejector rod to pound on it to get it to extract. Con: Here is the biggest con and my biggest disappointment on this gun. the trigger is to god dam thin and not rounded off enough. My trigger finger hurts like hell now. I think I'll be getting a blister tomorrow. Pro: Its a Colt, looks pretty and shiny. You get flexing rights. Quality/Well built. It didn't fail on my first range visit so I guess that is a good thing. Silky smooth action. My verdict after one range trip. Its just OK as a shooter. To be honest, I have a Ruger LCRX and I think that shoots better at half the price. I don't regret buying the Colt, but I wouldn't buy another one. |

DA 22s require a heavier trigger for reliable ignition. That's just the nature of the beast and not unique to Colt. 10 to 12 is completely normal, even a bit on the light side. |
