I'm not really a Springfield Armory fan, but I don't find any appeal to the G21/41 frame. How about some other 1911, perhaps that doesn't have a lock in the mainspring housing?

I'm a fan of 1911s and Glocks.  From those choices I'd go G41.  I'm a big fan of the G21 Gen 4 as well.  Depends on the features you need / value.

An E Series S&W; if you can get by the external extractor.

Or a SIG Traditional Tac Ops.

OP,

For what purpose?  I prefer 1911s over Glocks anyday.

These are sweet guns.

S&W nails it..  Forget about the extractor.  It hands down works.

But I still voted Glock 41

This will be a range gun and ccw for those days I want to carry a .45.

I've iwb'd a g34 and 1911 plenty of times so, no issues there.

So really - it's going to be shot a lot at the range.

Daily ccw is a G19

1911, I have 3 and its the only .45 for me. glocks are best in the 9mm world.
I love my springfield mil spec, and it is very simple to change out the MSH and components to get rid of the lock.
Here is mine, I have changed out the trigger, thumb safety, and MSH to Ed Brown parts. I may go back to a short trigger. This thing is an excellent, simple weapon. The only thing I plan to do is to get it dovetailed and add some trijicons. Pictured with my P226, Kimber, and dads Loaded.

I like alloy framed 4.25" 1911's for carry.

But not as much as G19's.

Glock 41 is a pretty nice gun.  Fun for the range, so is a nice 1911, but I think I'd take the 41 over the other two options.

Currently a P226r and my glocks.

I've owned many 1911's, Sigs, CZ's, and glocks. So it's not really anything new per se, but just looking for something in .45

I'm not too stuck up on american frame or not as I own guns from around the world.

I'd get the loaded

Of the choices given, the Glock everytime.

Unless you like "stoppage" drills.

I keep going back to the 1911 and it disappoints me every time.

I vote Glock.

Don't completely dismiss the Gen4 Glock 21 either.  Put in a good KKM aftermarket barrel (something the 41 doesn't have) and you'll have the ultimate gun period, a .45 ACP with the ability to shoot the mighty .45 Super.

Glock lost me years ago with those damn finger grooves.... They do not fit me and I will not change for them.

N Marked frame Springers can be nice... If price is similar to the mil-spec, I'd get the loaded.

I messed around with the 41 yesterday.

Didn't like it compared to the full size 9mm guns (17/34). I was hoping the gen4 would feel better than the gen 3 .45's but it didn't to me.

Going to look at the loaded on Thursday evening. This isn't going to be a serious use gun until I can personally ensure it's reliable. Until then and even after then I'll probably continue to take ole trusty (g19) with me daily.

What I don't like about the loaded is that it comes with a bunch of "upgrades" that I will end up replacing anyway, so why pay a premium for them in the initial purchase.  Go with the Mil Spec.
