Has anyone else on here noticed that the XD9 has an exceptionally long trigger travel?  My glock didn't seem to have one as long as it.  Its very smooth and I like the feel, it just feels really long to take up slack before you get down to business.  I'm going to have my buddy that is a gunsmith see if he can shorten it.  If he can I'll post what he did.

The XD trigger is a bit longer than the Glock trigger... I have both ... but shoot a couple hundred rounds thru it and you will automatically adjust and probably find you like the xd trigger better.

The XD is a single action pistol but it does have a long trigger pull.

The long trigger pull is the result of the way the trigger pull disables the firing pin lock.

I have never really tried to work on an XD trigger but from first impression I don't think you can do much about the long take up and still keep the very important drop safety features.

My gunsmith buddy has a theory as to how to modify it, If I decide to do it I'll let you all know how it works.

I personally feel that the XD's trigger reset  is noticably longer than the Glock's, but the actual pull feels a lot more managable.
