Has anybody put these in their GP-100? I have been thinking about putting the kit in mine to improve the DA trigger pull. I have shot and dry fired the hell out of it and I am still not happy with the pull as it is. My only concern is that I use the GP-100 as a defensive gun and am worried about light primer strikes. From reading the reviews at midway.com, this doesn't seem to be a problem if the 10lb spring is used.

I put a Wolff spring kit in my SP101. I don't have misfire problems even with hard CCI primers and the lightest mainspring, but I did polish everything that moved, stoned the sear engagement surfaces and lubed it. If the trigger is gritty or rough, it won't solve your problem. If it's just too heavy, it will reduce the pull for you.

Good to know, thanks! The trigger pull does get gritty right at the end of my DA pull. Is stoning the engagement surfaces something a non expert could do at home or, do I risk really messing up my revolver?

There is a writeup on how to do it over on rugerforum.net or rugerforum.com(yeah, there are two sites). It's not really that difficult.

i done it to mine.   warning.  be prepared to do it 2x if you choose the wrong poundage spring.   also, its a royal PIA to get it back on the hammer strut.  maybe that link has an easy/tool to do it, but i struggled with mine for 2 days before i put it aside and tried it again.

and if youre going to use it for your SD/HD gun, i would do alot of testing on different ammo or the ammo youre going to carry before you carry it.

also, once you get it setup try both SA AND DA.  you may not get reliable ignition with DA mode.

Brownells does have a tool available to compress the spring. If you think these are hard to get back in place, try putting an extra power hammer spring in a mini 30.
