Well, after years of hemming and hawing, I went and finally done it.....and it got here today! 
I've always wanted a 10mm, especially a 10mm hi cap. A 1911 is pricey or rare, unless a custom build (plan to get a 10mm barrel for my Para Ordance some day). I didn't really want to "buy" another gun....so I did the next best thing. I ordered a complete slide from Lone Wolf in 10mm! It didn't "help" that they had a special, buy a slide, get an in stock barrel for FREE!!!!! (I just ordered sights, slide guts, and recoil spring too). So, I am now the proud owner of a 10mm long slide Glock w/ a threaded barrel (6.02"). It's a bit front end heavy, but I plan to use (if I can find it) the older "full power" 10mm loads. 
At least my SW 610 6" 10mm won't be lonely any more, it was the only 10mm I had. (Maybe a Mech Tech 10mm upper next....)

Years you waited and you did not post pics? Thread = Fail Forgive me, I haven't been on the forum for sometime......I forgot the number 1 rule is eye candy (pics), if I had a woman to hold it, it would be better !
I forgot you can't upload pics (unless it is to ones account) like some other thread software.... Factory 45 slide is next to it for comparison. And yes, your eyes are not misleading you. It is a finger groove G21 frame that has no tac/accessory rail.... |

Well, I took it out to test function, ejection, etc. today. Just stepped out my door and headed to "back 40"  . Initial feed wasn't quiet so good, so I dropped one in the chamber and put the mag in after ward. It cycled through the ammo I had okay (only 7 or 8 rounds). I was using 180grn FMJ ammo from USA Ammo (old stock I had, picked up at a gun show, it was NEW loads, not reloads). The 22lb spring worked okay (had my reservations about maybe too heavy). I'll have to test this 22lb spring w/ the 45 slide, see if it cuts down "felt" recoil. Usually I don't like the recoil in the 45, and was thinking this 10mm would be nasty. My 610, it is nasty, but then again, there is no slide mass to move.
I didn't really test for accuracy this time. I hit the 44oz soda cup I put into the dry gully. A board on the far side, I couldn't tell if I was hitting it (or it was cardboard). I'll take some time to test the sights some other time. At least I remembered to oil the barrel and rails before heading out.....didn't oil anything else. |
