Today I just bought a Springfield Armory Loaded PX9151 SS at the gun show and after doing some reading I hav come to realize that while I bought a good product I am not happy with some of the features of the gun already and I haven't even shot it.

I want a diff barrel as I am understanding they are 2 piece. I am thinking of going with Nowlin match grade as that is what I have in my other 1911 or maybe Wilson Combat match grade barrel. Anyone else have any other recomendations?

Then I also want to get night sights maybe  Trijicon. Or MMC or Novak. Not sure in that department as well.

My gun also has a 2 piece FLGR. I don't want a 2 piece. I want a 1 piece can anyone recomend me one? I like the one in my other 1911 but I do not know what brand it is. Then that is it for now. Thanks for any help y'all can giveme in advance.

I would probably go with a Kart barrel.  They're reasonably priced and are quite popular in a number of custom guns.  I put Novak sights on my Colt, but went old school with the plain black rear and gold dot front. Heinie, 10-8, Wilson, etc.  all make nice sights.  Pick what you like.  I would switch to a standard GI plug and guide rod because I'm not a fan of the full length products.  You can get the GI set up from Brown for around $20.

Am I missing something?  Springfield Loaded's come with good single piece barrels and night sites.  The only thing you should be looking at is different grips and maybe a GI setup rather than a FLGR.  If I am missing something and your gun doesn't have these features, then I think you need a good 10-8 rear sight and a trijicon style front sight.  I also agree that a kart barrel would be a good option.

Now all that said, you should never buy a gun and then replace stuff without shooting it.

Mine has what looks like target sights. No markings whatsoever. If the barrel is a two piece I want to change it because that's not what I want.

You're right. Should never change anything on a gun until I shoot it which is what I plan on doing first. I wan just want to have an idea for when I do change things up. I'm not going to change anything out tomorrow.

This is similar to the one I have as I can tell visually. The only difference is mine has slotted head screws and not hex head which I plan on buying.

Dude, don't get hex head screws! I got some when a smith did some work on mine, I hated those things, you need the special wrench every time you clean it and if a grip gets loose in the field, you're SOL because I'll bet your Leatherman tool doesn't have Torx bits.

Get a GI recoil rod/plug. My 2 piece kept coming apart while shooting.

Those are NOVACK low pro COMBAT sights, NOT TARGET! They are great sights. Try painting your front sight white.

As for your barrel, I've only EVER heard of 1 person having a problem and Springfield sells shit loads of these guns. Here are your options: (1) Leave it alone, IF anything ever happens (it's not gonna) Springfield will fix it. (2) You spend a lot of money, maybe upwards of $200, to have a barrel installed, springfield won't warrenty it anymore. I personally have had smiffs fuck up my gun before, so I wouldn't want to have a smiff mess with a perfectly good gun.

It must be nice to have more money than you know what to do with, huh?

Well Jimmy, us ballas do what we want while hatas do what they can!

I was actually to snake this gun for $650 brand new OTD.

In my cleaning kit I keep a spare hex head wrench and my 1911 tool I bought from Wilson a few years ago has the bushings wrench and the hex wrench and a few other tools attached. I was thinking about getting the Wilson torx head screws but don't think I will.

First off the SA you have is a 1 piece barrel unless they changed something.  Second just go over to MidwayUSA and get an Ed Brown blued GI guide rod and a Ed Brown stainless spring plug, you need Novak cut sight and the Novak brand comes with Trijicon lamps you can also get those from Midway, and check out some VZ grips.
Rear sight
Front sight
Guide rod
Spring plug

Ok I had read something about a 2 piece barrel and wasn't sure. But, since it's a one piece i will leave alone.

Thanks for the info it really helps out.

I'm not sure if it was Spreadfire. I know they were in the back. The shop is located in s town near Ft. Worth I think Coppel or that was the name of their shop. About an aisle or two over from Premium Ammo table.
