Hello all.
I'm new to the board here, but I had to join since I recently acquired BRD. (Now I just gotta get the BR to go with it. I thought this might be a good place to ask about my HK USP45, though. I've had this gun for a few years now and I've fired approx 400 rnds through. Gotta say I LOVE this gun. Last time I had it out (a couple months ago) it performed flawlessly. However, when I took it apart for cleaning, I noticed the recoil spring (the larger one) seemed to have lost its shape somewhat. It now has a slight bulge out to the side. Instead of being a perfect cylinder it has somewhat of an "S" shape to it. Not severe, but it was enough to make me wonder if there is something wrong with it. None of the individual coils looks damaged or bent in anyway. It's just like the spring isn't compressing back in a straight line anymore. Is this common? Normal? Or is something wrong with my spring and it needs to be replaced? |

Thank you both for the replies.
I suppose it's possible mine was always like this too, though I really don't recall that being the case. I know none neither of my other handguns are like that, so I wanted to make sure everything was still in order. Thanks again! |

You can always pick up a HK or Wolff replacement spring get a 14lb factory or 16lb extra power just in case you shoot a lot of +P's, I think last time I got one they were $7.50 or so. rjw Factory rated HK springs will run 45 Super loads. There is no need to change them out if you're running hot ammo. Doc |
