This may be a little like asking, How high is up?" However, I'll ask anyway: What's been your cost for a trigger job on a 1911? To put some boundaries on this: 1) done by an experienced 1911 smith, but not a 1911 "Super Star, Custom builder". 2) a "carry job" of about 4#. 3) price using "existing parts" 4) price requiring new sear, hammer, spring, etc. That's about it. I've heard prices from $70 to over $300. I want a decent, professional job...but I don't want to pay for the guy's new Lexus, either.

I just shot my SA SS loaded at the range yesterday. I put in the Cyl & Slide Tactical II hammer/sear/disconnector/sear spring kit. Dropped in like it was made for the pistol. The machine work is beautiful. Shot flawlessly. YMMV. Bill is also good people. Very nice to do business with. Roy |

I'd personally send mine to Wilson Combat for them to do the work. I LOVE the factory trigger on my Stealth and it breaks right at the 3.5-4 # range you are looking for. They charge between $100-$155 depending on the series 1911. Here is the Custom Order Form and the prices for all of their work in a .pdf format. Wilson Combat Custom Order Form |
