I'm looking for a threaded 22 to suppress. I've looked at a Ruger Mark 3, and it's the front runner right now.

Is there any others I should consider ?

I've heard Browning makes a threaded buckmark model, but I haven't seen one and my LGS don't seem to think one is produced.

Can I get some thoughts and opinions from those shooting suppressed 22's.

Thanks guys and gals

I have a mark 3 and a ruger sr22 pistol, I like me both. Also have a threaded 10 inch contender that is super quiet. The mark 3 is my first choice.

The Ruger MKIIIs seem to be the most accurate and reliable of them all, I have a MKIII Hunter and a Volquartsen Scorpion(MKIII), but they seem to be a bit louder than the rest, suppressed. My Browning Buckmark Whisper is very reliable, however same suppression as the MKIIIs. Everyone seems to like the M&P 22s, it suppresses well, just does nothing for me aesthetically. ISSC M22 is finicky as hell, will only cycle Remington Target ammo, suppresses well though. If you like 1911s, don't overlook the Sig 1911-22s(same as GSG), as they seem to be just as reliable as the Rugers and they suppress very well(I've got two of those). If you got a small can like the SS Sparrow or AAC Element 2, I've put over 800 flawless rounds through a Walther PPK/S 22 and it suppresses very well. Good luck.

Favorite current combo...

For cheap, small and reliable, the SR22 or the newer model P22 are fun guns.

Not as accurate as the MkIII or 22/45, but still pretty good.

Thanks for the response everyone. Going to go do a little shopping around tomorrow.

Slipjett  That's quite a fine collection.

I agree on the Ruger. While I do like the S&W 41 better, it is an order of magnitude more expensive.

Browning used to offer a factory-threaded Buckmark, but not anymore.  Tactical Solutions offers a threaded barrel for them.

I recently picked up a 22/45 Lite, particularly because it is threaded.

I saw 2 at an East TN gun shop last weekend. I too use a Buckmark Whisper model as my host. Love the gun!

Benton Shooters Supply is the store, in Polk Co., TN. Hope this helps!

S&W has a series of pistols that are threaded, 422, 622, 2206, 2213, 2214.  I'm running a form 1 on a 422 and a 2206 and its a great host.  I also use my Sig misquito which was totally worthless without the can but the can provides enough backpressure to make it function 100% it seems.

22/45 Lite. I like my Mark III but add a suppressor with stainless steel baffles and it becomes pretty heavy.

Also there are no adapters to fiddle with on a 22/45. With my SR22, MP22 or P22, the thread adapter sometimes comes off with the can ... and that usually happens when I forget to bring my little wrench.

I have no part of the sale but there is a threaded (aftermarket threaded) buckmark in the EE right now for around $400 shipped I believe.

I just ordered a ruger lite...I will have to try my friend's sparrow on it and get back with you when it comes in.

Thanks for all the input. I still have sometime to look because my can is in holding for about two more months. I did go look at the Ruger 22/45 nice feel just hate to buy the first thing I see.

M&p 22. Mine keeps federal bulk subsonic and runs great. Its already threaded to accept the 1/2x28 adaptor.
To me, its the best choice.
