(Direct from the "horse's mouth", I might add.) On Tuesday, I contacted Eric Wagenblas at Charter Arms. At the time, I suggested that they use their unique auto pistol extractor star (The one used in the .45/.40/9mm/.380 chambered revolvers). I stated that this would be a unique opportunity to create a .32 Auto revolver based on the .32 "Undercoverette" and their "Professional" models. The owner of Charter Arms himself, Nick Ecker, personally replied. Nick writes: "We share your enthusiasm on the .32 ACP cartridge and have one in process, please be patient and think you and others will be very pleased. Sincerely, Nick Ecker" This looks promising for restoring the .32 Auto's popularity in both a 6- and 7-shot revolver pattern from the company. The maximum pressure of 20,500 psi has been stretched in recent years by Buffalo Bore. In its "+p" guise, Tim Sundles has shown us the "little .32" can be safely loaded into the lower realm of the .32 H&R Magnum. This compares rather favorably to the .32 S&W Long cartridge. It can be used as either a personal defense cartridge or a handy, packable "trail gun". To paraphrase the old 1960 Certs candy/breath mint commercial: "It's a personal defense revolver. No, it's a 'trail gun'. Stop, you're both right! It's two, two, two guns in one." A two-cylinder model, perhaps? What could be more convenient? |
