I just ordered a new Springfield TRP with rail. I should pick it up over the weekend. Anything that should be changed or replaced on it from the begining? In your opinion what is some recommended improvements?
Thanks, |

For me it was just an Ed Brown shorty guide rod and SS plug. Good to go. Also, be prepared for your Wilson mags to have slide lock issues. Very common w/TRP's as I discovered. Outside of that....WOW....what an awesome pistol! if he got a railed version the guide rod/plug swap is a no go (unless of course you want to replace the bull barrel, the slide is already cut for a bushing) anyway mine is 1500 round in flawlessly, and will lock with wilson 8 rounders Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Congratulations!
All I changed out on mine was the FLGR like another user in here already mentioned. Now that I have read this thread, I also would like to remove the ambi thumb safety, there is no need for me and I find it rather irritating more than anything. Congrats again, and enjoy shooting it! It's an awesome handgun. |
| I love my TRP no need to change anything on it. Right out of the box mine was shooting just as well as all my friends who have high end Les Baers and Wilson Combats. I just do not like the rail on a 1911 but they are great pistol I got mine without the rail BTW. |
