I recently purchased a new Parkerized Loaded Model, took it out to the range and found that the accuracy was well below the acceptable level for an $800 pistol. We're talking extreme deviation from point of aim at 25 yards with multiple shooters, and different ammo. On the bright side, the finish and function were great with no malfunctions of any kind. Disappointed, I contacted Springfield Armory, let them know the issue and they promptly picked up the pistol free of charge.

28 days later, here I am with my pistol back from SA where they custom fitted a new stainless bushing, new barrel, new lower front night sight, and tuned trigger. (The trigger is SWEET) Free of charge. The target included says "Winchester 230gr ball, 25 yards", and it's 5 shots in a 1 and a half inch group, with 2 touching. I blasted 4 mags of Lawman ball through it today real quick and informal like, and I can tell you this one is now a keeper. I understand that with hand made and fitted firearms, sometimes a bad one comes through the line, but Springfield made it good, probably better than I had any right to expect for a production gun.

Thanks Springfield for the great service!

I agree.  I had to send my TRP in for a little tuning.  The folks there emailed me a Fed Ex return label.  Sent it in and had it back on my doorstep in just under two weeks. That was unreal.  It runs like a Swiss watch now.  I could not have been happier.

I am going to send mine in this week and hope it comes back worth a darn.  I am having the same problems you mentioned...shooting low and all over the place.  The bushing is loose as a high school slut on a Friday night.

Customer service is great, although they told me AFTER my mag puked everything out the bottom not to shoot +P in the EMP 40.....now trying to find a good carry round that won't blow up on me when I need it most.

Update: I got mine back three weeks after I sent it off and now it is a wonderful piece.

SA customer service is first rate.

Short story:

Got a GI Ultra Compact for my birthday.  It was a thoughtful gift but not what I wanted so I sent it to the Custom Shop to bring it up to "loaded" standards.  Eventually, it began to have really bad feeding problems.  I sent it back to SA 3 times but they were unable to resolve the issue.  They finally sent me a Lightweight Champion Operator pistol (with all the goodies) as a replacement.  They took into account the money I had spent in their custom shop when calculating the value of my gun's replacement.  Not only that but the turn-around time was around a week per attempt at a fix and they paid the shipping every time.

How does the Operator work?  I have no idea.  I sold it and bought a Sig P220.

I have faith in SA but have lost my faith in the 1911....

Rear sight came off my mil-spec 1911, they paid shipping both ways, new sights AND refinished. Very good communication over email. Cant ask for much more than that!

When they sent the slide back I seriously though I had a new slide.

I have also had very good experiences with SA customer swervice. When I first got my GI, I had some FTF issues. I sent it to them and it came back adjusted and with a match stainless barrel. It's been perfect ever since.

I finally got in touch with a rep from SA and found out that they recently moved the customer service office and was told that they are getting situated and will be up and running at normal speed within the month.

Yup, they had a major flood recently. SA's customer service has always been great to me, that's the main reason I bought another Springfield.

I'm glad someone is having good luck with them.  I can't ever speak with anyone there or get a return phone call.
