One of my Glocks is showing her age and I think she needs a make over so to speak.  Is refinishing/painting left to the pros?  We've seen the lower painted all the time, but can the slide be a DIY project?  If so, what's the best way to go about doing this? What are the best products out there? Steps? Anyone have any pics?

I refinished mine at home. I sand blasted the slide using a cheap home depot sand blasting gun and hooked it up to my compressor. i then filled a 5 gallon bucket with fine white  silica sand again from home depot and holding the stripped slide with pliers blasted off the old finish out in the yard.  I got some parkerizing solution and a small stainless pot and heated it up on the kitchen range. Degreasing is a must.  It was very easy to do. The nice part is new sights are cheap and i installed them with a plastic punch.

+1 to sandblasting prior to refinish, it WILL make a difference in the end result look. So what are you thinking for color, tactical pink

or baby blu?

Deosn't Glock offer to refinish slides?  If they did that would be nice, wouldn't have to worry about someone blasting the tennifer off.

I just want it lto look like the day I got her. Glock offers it for around $50 last I checked a while ago.  It's the shipping and the waiting that would annoy me, would rather do it myself and learn (hopefully without messing it up).
