[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Slide lock problem.

I have a series one Kimber in 45 ACP that I installed a Wilson Bullet Proof slide stop. When I try using my Wilson magazines the slide will not lock back. Colt, McCormick, Novack, MecGar mags all work perfectly. I would like to use the Wilsons for my carry setup but I also want the slide to lock on an empty mag.

Common for some Wilsons. I rebuilt all my 47Ds with Tripp Research Super 7 kit and never had any more slide lock issues.

Problem fixed. I put the Kimber slide lock back in and the slide locks with all magazines. I have used Wilson products for years but I think that is over. Their slide lock will not work with their own magazines.

Was the slide lock properly fitted?

The guys in the 1911 forum might be better than the accessories forum at giving you a good answer.

100 years in to production and they still can't get the 1911 right! How friggin' hard is it to design a part to work properly 100% of the time?
