Looking to buy a 1911. I was shopping around looking at Kimbers, Springfields, Smith and  Wesson.

I have around a 1k budget. I have multiple long guns so i figured its time to get myself a hand gun, plus i just graduated college and got a good paying job. So I'm looking to indulge myself for my hard work through college.

Went to my local gun shop today and was looking to see some kimbers and springfields but then i layed my eyes on this guy.

http://www.sigsauerguns.com/the-shop/pistols/sig-sauer-1911-tactical-operations/

Sig Sauer 1911 Tactical operations.

This gun feels amazing compared to my friends Kimber custom 2 TLE.

Ontop of that Its only 900 (retail 1,200) bucks which seems like a great bang for the buck with what it comes with.

My questions are, can i go wrong with the SIG ? Or should i put my hands on multiple other brands before i choose.

The gun feels and looks great and so far has me sold but before i impulse buy this thing id figured i would ask on here since i am fairly new to the gun world. I am also sure you guys on here have some valuable insight to my dilemma.

All opinions and advice are appreciated. Thank you.

I don't think you can go wrong with the SIG. I have an XO and like it a lot.

I wasn't thrilled with the slide but it is growing on me. I actually think I prefer the external extractor now. The machining is very clean and the finish is great (far and away better than Kimber's)

Holsters can be a challenge. I ordered one direct from Blade-Tech.

Man this again!  Sig is making a great 1911 these days and is your best bet under $1000.00.  I have an STX and would put it up ajainst most anything.

Am i kicking a dead horse?

I really haven't read up at all on them at all, i guess i should have before posting.

I don't doubt Sig as a company at all, i view them as one of the best. Which is why i wanted to ask. I didn't know if its inexpensive because of poor quality and low demand or something along those lines...

IMHO best 1911 for the money hands down.
Bought the tacops love it's great shooting gun,
later bought a springfield ranger officer.
the range officer is not even close to the quality of SIG.
SIG is the most under rated 1911.

Buy the sig if it fells right in your hands.

PURCHASED THIS MORNING!

For the guys who wanted to know where its priced at that much the place is called Rinks in Lockport Illinois.

Ive been to all the big places in the Chicago area and this place always beats everyone by a big margin. Example

This same Gun in Megasports of Plainfield: 1,119.

Best part is that rinks is barley 10 minutes from my house.

Thanks for all your help guys !
