Tell me what you think of the Sig Pro's
I know that they are relatively new to the market, but why, and what causes, Sig Pro's to be so inexpensive? They are half the price of a new P226 from what I can find. Is there really a massive quality difference between the Sig Pro and the other Sigs?

I bought mine a few years back, and absolutely love it. It's more accurate than I am, never jams, and always goes bang. I've got both the .357 Sig barrel, and the .40 S&W barrel. I've used it numerous 3-gun matches, drug it through the dirt, and pretty much treated it like a cheap gun. Never let's me down.

CDNN had 12 round mags for cheap a while back, but I'm not sure if they have any left now. Wouldn't hurt to check 'em out and see what they have.

I carried a Sig Pro 2340 for a few years as a police officer, it came out sometime around 1999/2000 I think and I carried one till 2005.  I never had any problems with it.  Never had any malfunctions.  I'm not sure but the polymer frame might have something to do with the reduce costs.  I have nothing against the Sig Pro series, but during the same time period I owned a 229 in .40 S&W that was more accurate.

So you sacrifice a little with accuracy by going the way of Sig Pro?
I would love to hear more if anyone else has any first hand experience.

They're cheaper because they have poly frames.  Machining the steel ones costs more than just molding plastic.

I like them though, I have one on my hip right now.

I've put over 2200 rounds through mine, and have not had one problem. No jams, nothing. The only thing I wish was that they made grips for it. I haven't seen any anywhere besides the Crimson ones.

I had one about 4-5 years ago in 40, sold it.. liked it other than wasnt accurate (for me)..  had a bunch of 9mm ammo and wanted another gun so I picked up a Pro in 9mm.. same damm thing.. couldnt shoot it worth a shit....  traded it off for a glock 19 in 9mm... the glocks always work good  FOR ME........   less bulky and lighter.......  I do like the sig 220.......  I would get the glock or get a 226/229 ..  Shooting 2 different friends 226's I shoot them better than the sig pro and they shoot the 226 better as well..

I have the opposite experience. Glocks shoot horribly with me and Sigs always seem dead on. I have a SigPro on it's way as I type here. This is the first and only forum I have visited where the SigPro got anything but glowing reviews of it's accuracy. In fact, that was one of the reasons I jumped on one.... We'll see.

I put near 200 rounds through a Glock 17 yesterday. My accuracy wasn't BAD, but not great either. It never felt like it fully conformed to my grip. Never had that problem with a Sig. I had no inclination toward Glock to begin with with other than the raves everyone give them and the number of fanboys on the forums. That is why I had to try it. Y'all can keep'em. Different strokes for different folks.

Dont mean they are not accurate...  Just not for me....  too me they are to big and bulky.  maybe if I practiced more I would have been better with it. picking up the p226 I was right on....Seems I could always pick up a glock, no matter the model and shoot the shit out of it...  Like someone said 75 % of the Cops in this country cant be wrong....  NOT bad mouthing the Sigs, I like Sigs and would like to have a 226 or another 220....... Glocks are simple, easy to operate, nothing there to snag, 99 % will feed and fire.....But like trucks and everything else in this world, NOT everyone likes the same thing.... Not everyone has luck with ford trucks, and the next guy will have all the luck with them,, but not chevy...
