Is there an easy way to determine the frame size on a S&W revolver?  Markings??
I have an older "Elliot Ness" style .38 the wife wants to shoot in IDPA.  Need to get a holster and some better grips.
It looks like the same frame as my model 19.  Same speed loaders fit.

If it is the same size as your model 19, it is a K-Frame.

Here's a picture that might help determine relative frame sizes for some common Colt & S&W revolvers. From the top:
S&W K frame
Colt D Frame
Colt E Frame
S&W N frame

Here is an oversimplification.
J frame= 5 shot 38/357
K frame= 6 shot 38/357(and 22)
L frame= 6 or 7 shot 357(and discontinued 696 .44sp)
N frame= 357/41,44,45,10mm,6 to 8 shot,
All .38 Military&Police models are K frame.
