What size recoil spring is standard in SA 1911's ?

I dunno..... but I replaced mine with a Wilson Combat 18lb spring.... and my SA finally purrs. Just replace it if in doubt of round count or weight.

I should have been a little more clear. This is for a friend's SA. He just wants to make sure he gets same spring as he has now.
By the way I did same as you, replaced mine with Wilson, but using their 181/2.

16 lbs is the standard spring tension for a standard slide/frame in 45.
