I have a 3rd Gen 19 I use for CCW.

Was swapping out ammo today, and when I inserted the magazine, I "slammed" it home, and the slide released, loading the gun.  Usually I will insert the mag and then use the release.

Any danger to this?

Thanks in advance.

No problem at all. It happens, usually when you slam the mag in aggressively. I've also noticed that this seems to be more likely to happen with a new pistol than with an older broken in pistol.

Thank you Sir.

Was planning on using this when I start IDPA/3 gun.  Guess it will save me a step. :)

My gen 3 G22 does this as well, with and without the TLR-1 mounted, if I just insert the loaded mag it stays open but if I use any real force it returns to battery on its own.  Anyone else?

My main shooter G19 has about 5,000 rounds on it and has done this 2 or 3 times. Not very regular to say the least. As such, it's a surprise to me when it happens. I am authoritative with my mag seating; firm but not violent.
