| Anybody know of any sites to get info on the Colt Pythons by serial #? I've acquired a used blue 6" and would like to find out about when it was made and any possible value. Thanks. |

6in. blued Pythons are the most beautiful handguns ever built IMO. I can't help with serial numbers, but these guys probably can www.unitedforums.com/cgi-bin/cfcgi/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Colt+Revolvers&number=7&DaysPrune=10&LastLogin= As for value, well they often go for more than I happen to think they are worth these days, but I have seen them as low as $500 in excellent shape and as high as $1000 LNIB... |

All Pythons are NOT created equal. I've seen some made in the mid- to late-1970s that were a POS. Colt has never been steady on their quality. Best thing to do is get a factory letter from Colt for $25 or whatever it is they charge. Then you can frame it & put it in your gun room, kinda cool. Good luck. |
