Hello guys.  A friend of mine somehow managed to acquire 2 cz82's chambered for 9x18 at the recent fun show, so he brought them to me to show them off and get my opinion.  He knows i love to see new goodies.  They look like fine little guns, and I was inspired to purchase one myself.  While I was examining the one he brought over, I noticed that the extractor looked really chewed up, probably common for a pistol that has been fed a lot of steel cased ammo.  I tried to chamber and eject a few rounds, and sure enough, that extractor would only pull the cartridge halfway out of the chamber, then it would let go causing a FTE.  He automatically assumed that since I can detail strip a glock (not exactly rocket science,) that I can surely replace that extractor, so he dumped the pistol on me.  I'm confident that I can replace the extractor myself, but I have no idea where to start, aside from maybe the firing pin retention plate.  Has anyone here replaced an extractor for this pistol?  Do any of you guys know where I can buy the part and get instructions for replacement?  Will it require any special tools?  I'm also going to order a new recoil spring, but are there other parts that I should replace while I'm at it?

Thanks guys.

Just call CZ to get the part.

That type of wear is not from steel cased ammo.  That is from dropping the slide on an already chambered round, and repeatedly (most likely).  The extractor snapping over the rim is very hard on them, and will chip them and cause tension problems.  That is why you should not do it.

There's a pin about 3/4 inch forward of the rear sight that you'll need to drift out to remove the extractor.

Please post the result of your parts quest!

I've put it on the back burner for now, but I'll post when I get things going.

Any smith should be able to do it and the part should be readily available from CZUSA.  The gun is still in commercial production as the CZ83.

CZ-82/CZ-83 supposedly use the same extractor which is available from CZ-USA.com online @ $34.20

If you need the general 15 page manual with diagram of parts email me and I will send it to you.  Has the schematic and may be helpful but not in depth in any way.
