I just know this has been asked before, but here goes... What can be done to lighten the trigger pull on a ruger p89? I started to fire one the other day, after shooting some other pistols, and for a moment, I thought the safety must be on, it wasn't! |

Go to Wolf Gunspring's web site & see what your options are for a replacement spring set. A set should run about $14-15 or so. A reduced power mainspring is what you're looking fo, maybe some sort of trigger spring as well, I don't know Rugers very well. Good luck! |
I once agreed to do a 'trigger job' on a P89. I worked for hours learning about the gun and its secrets. I used all of the skills I had with 1911's and got absolutely nowhere. The P89 design has so much slop built in that it is impossible to smooth it up. I worked for maybe 5 or 6 hours and charged the guy $40. He could feel no improvement. I could feel an improvement of maybe 5 to 10 % reduction in trigger pull at best. He was angry so I gave him all of his money back and 'ate' the spring set. I will never try another. Ya know, now that you mention it, it seems like I read something like that before. Have you posted that story before |
