My .380 was a fairly early model, and from the first time I fired it, the gun was ejecting the fired cases straight back, or nearly straight back. I was getting hit in the forehead or glasses with 1-2 cases per magazine, with 1-2 more hitting my muffs. The hotter the ammunition (Gold Dots, Cor-Bon, etc) the worse the problem was. After the cases drew blood a couple of times, I called Kel-Tec and spoke with their service department. They weren't surprised at all, & said "Oh, you have one of the early guns. We made a modification to the ejector after the first few batches went out." They told me to return the gun, & they would replace it with the newer model.

I returned the gun on July 7, along with a check for $20.00 to cover the additional cost of a hard chrome slide on the new gun. My check was cashed on July 17, and I heard nothing from K-T until I finally called them last week. They said that they had fallen way behind on getting warranty guns out, but that they expected to be caught up early this week. So if you are having problems with your .380s ejection, you might want to give K-T a call & see if your gun is one of the pre-modification models.

Hi Guy,

That was kewl of Kel-Tec.
I bought a NIB P3AT a few days back and sent it straight to KT for the $20 chrome exchange program.  I called before hand to make sure that had them in stock and they said that they had four.  So, instead of the two dollar USPS snail mail I sent it UPS RED for $23.75 to make sure I didn't have to wait for the next chrome batch of slides.  It should be on it's way home and I will let everyone know how it deals with WWB, FED Hydro, SPEER GD and what I hope to carry Corbon Pow'RBall.
