I am looking at a Sig P320 Xten or a S&W M&P10. I have seen some reports of reliability issues with the M&P. With the P320 10mm I have seen some report of magazine issues. Have these been addressed by Sig? Any other reported issues with the 10mm? Both of these guns fit my hand better than my G20. The Sig fits better than the M&P but the M&P would work. I kind of take for granted that pistols run right these days. But I still see some reports of problems with both of these. My Glock doesnt fit my hand well. But I have to admit I have 100% faith in it. I carry these for bear protection so I need to KNOW 100% they will work. I am not trolling looking for a Glock Vs Sig argument. Glocks are not perfect, But I dont think I have EVER had a failure with ANY of mine. But I have never had a failure with my old German P225/P226 or P220. But I have never owned a US made Sig. |

I have two Xten's and the mag issue is real. SIG sent me a couple of new mags and they feed much better. I also polished the feed ramps on both of them and that, too, seemingly made a difference. With the recent P320 issues I am hesitant to carry them. I also have a Smith M&P 10 and it has been fairly reliable. I live in MT as well and I have stepped up to an FNX 45T that I have converted to 460 Rowland. |

For a 10mm, you may also want to include the SIG P220 LEGION SAO 10mm. Yes, it is a bit more expensive, but darn well worth it. The P320 XTEN is nice, but the P220 LEGION 10mm seems to be less picky when it comes to magazines and the chambering situation with some ammo. I do have a P320 XTEN and it does not seem to have any issues, but I really like the P220 LEGION 10mm. I have an older DA/SA (no optic cut) and a newer SAO. | My XTC is been nothing but reliable but it doesn’t have a lot of rounds on it, maybe 500. I fed it 2 boxes of magtec and the rest have been my hand loads that are pretty stout. My ammo is loaded to SAAMI COAL but there isn’t much room in the mag walls to go any further. I have read most of the problems are with 200+ grain HC bullets but I have also read where guys have had no problems with heavy HC bullets. |
| I own an Xten Comp and an M&P 10 and there's really no comparison IMO. The Sig is one of my favorite 10mm and the M&P ranks last. Also have the P220 Legion and while it's a great gun, it's not really comparable to either of these, pricewise, capacity or weight. |
