| Is it possible to get a full size 1911, and just replace the slide and barrel to 4in size? or is there more involved than meets the eye, IE a different frame, guide rod etc. Thanks in advance. |

Speaking from my limited experience, I suppose if you really really wanted to you could, but just swapping the slide and barrel without modding them somehow, you will almost definetly run into a host of alignment problems.
May I ask why you don't just buy a commander size? (or build one if that's what you're up to) |

Try it out, you might like it. Afterall, its not the biggest handgun on the shelves Big +1 to that. Give carryin' the 5 incher a try. Really not that hard to conceal. I carried a full-size for years............still do, when I'm not carryin' somethin' else. The right holster makes the difference. Concealing the barrel is easy with a IWB holster. |
