As the Summer wanes and we’re gonna start moving into the colder months, I’m looking for a good light bearing OWB holster. Preferably I’d like to find something similar to the Bravo Concealment design, but better quality. Hit me with your recommendations… |

It's hard to find one that is actually safe. I don't consider a holster than allows someone to reach in and pull the trigger while the gun is holstered safe. 90% of light bearing holsters have this problem. Which is why I carry a separate flashlight instead of having one on my CCW. I've tried several Safariland models and they all (so far) have been returned due to this glaring safety defect. |

I'm very happy with my UrbanCarry LockLeather holster. The unique retention mechanism works really well - given that you need a firm pull to release the gun. But there's no strap, or pushbutton, or any other motion needed. You just pull straight up and the locking mechanism releases. I never worry about the gun coming loose. You absolutely do need to get the model made for your specific firearm. They make an RMR-ready version for OWB and IWB. I carry my Walther PPQ M1 (no optic) in the OWB version, and it disappears under a shirt. ![]()

It's never a 'big deal' until you have to pull the trigger.

DeSantis Vengeance. Linked Amazon page is for a G19 with TLR-7A/X and works with an RDS also. Be aware that although the pic shows tan, what you'll get is black. The DeSantis website offers a thumb break version. |

Safariland is garbage gun bucket level holster design. If not for the ALS system, they wouldn't ever be considered by me for anything. |

Easy for things to get caught in there as well. Here's a video that shows various models of holsters having the same problem. Just skip around in the video; no need to watch the entire thing. ![]() Check your holster before working one more day! |

Because the internet has told them that's a huge concern. Can a finger get in there? Sure. Can it be done in a hurry under stress? Not if the person carrying the gun is paying any attention. What's a million times more likely if someone is in the position to do this is that they're just going to take your gun. End of the day, if you're that lacking in awareness, you probably shouldn't be carrying a gun. |

I can take five ALS models for the same gun and get four levels of how they actually fit ![]() Since there is no real competition in duty holsters, they can rest on their name. If not for the ALS mechanism, I wouldn't consider them for anything. The ability for an object to enter the holster is caused by the double (battery) stack lights. The opening literally has to be wide enough for the light, and sitting the batteries side by side forces that big ass opening. Some fit closer than others. The real fix is a single battery (TLR-7X-HL) or stacking them end to end (TLR-9). |

Unless you're LE and your department mandates Safariland as the only holster option, nobody is forcing you to own one or use one. And if you were to find yourself in that situation, you can always quit that particular department and go somewhere where you don't have to use Safariland. FWIW, I have no dog in this fight. I have five, I think, and I'm not LE so your issue(s) are not germane to my use pattern. To each his own, YMMV, stop liking what I hate, etc. etc. etc. ![]() |

I never actually said that 🤣 They have their uses, as long as you realize what you're dealing with ahead of time and are willing to adjust (possibly the holster ). I DO remember when they cared about putting out a quality product. I remember when they made stuff in America ![]() Hell, I remember when they actually made items out of leather (yes, I'm old). I'm also a little grumpy about them buying Bianchi and sending those jobs to mexico too |

I’ve got a G19 MOS with an RMR and tlr7. Dedicated for home defense. I’d like a smaller pistol with a dot. But can’t afford another gun right now. So I’ll see how this holster will help with concealment for what I have. Thanks! |
