| Does anyone have any info or opinions on the taurus pt22 or 25 |
I can tell you the Beretta versions outsell the Taurus version 8 or 10 to 1 at the local gunshows here. Beretta has a long & distinguished history of mouse guns & Taurus doesn't, for what that's worth. ![]() Personally, *I* would buy a Keltec P-32 before I bought the Taurus. Toss-up between the Keltec & the Beretta, IMO. My .o2

I had a Taurus .22, and liked it a lot. I have a Beretta M21 now, and it's nice, but I did like the DAO of the Taurus. But I concur with the others. Kel-Tec owns the mousegun market. Smaller/thinner than the Taurus/Beretta, in better calibers. There is no use (or excuse) for .25 ACP. |

yeah. theyre shit. I bought a PT22 on a lark and found that $125 was better spent elsewhere. Accuracy is horrifying. The sights were badly canted on the weapon. It also wouldn't go "bang every time either. Generally the pistol would cycle (unless using hyper subsonics) but thanks to this firearm I got the idea that 1 in 5 .22 rounds don't go off. Then I got other .22s and discovered the truth. This was where I got my education about Taurus. If you buy a PROVEN revolver or centerfire auto from them for a few hundred less than the Smith or Springer, you might have won the day, but the place you NEVER want to be is at the mercy of Taurus' customer service dept. Bar none the worst in the business. Run away |

G26 is a bit thick for pocket carry, but AFAIC the bigger issue is weight. For example, I can get away with a titanium or even aluminum J-frame revolver, but if I go to a steel frame, the weight drags my pants down, and my belt sits at an angle. Too much weight = too saggy. I tried a Kahr P40 Covert for awhile and it was too heavy for pocket carry (for me); the G26, with its extra ammo, weighs more. For pocket, for me, the weight dictates either a Kel-Tec mousegun, or a lightweight J-frame. YMMV. |

the Beretta's are nice but I find the 22 not 100% reliable, the 32 Tomcat is 100% but compared to some of the newer stuff out there, they are fairly large that said.....the Kel Tec 380's are pretty decent guns, I picked up a used one this week for $100, have 200+ rds of FMJ and 50+ Gold Dots thru it and I am impressed with accuracy and reliabilty, MUCH smaller than the Beretta's or copys of. I still prefer my Airwieght J frames, my daily carry is a 340PD, but the Keltecs have there place, they are very small/slim |

I had an early series PT22 and it was a pos... I had an early series Beretta Tomcat and it was a pos... (Customer Service even worse) I have an early series NAA Guardian (AA series) and I had trouble early on, it was fixed by the factory free under warranty, and I was given a new mag. for my trouble. NAA Customer Service was excellent. I have a first generation KelTec P32. It has been perfect from day one, but I keep waiting for something to fall off it, or for it to break.. Reading the KTOG/KT RANGE forums will scare you to death about "fluffing 'n buffin" is necessary, pins back out, mags are accidently released by pressure in real wallet holsters and so on. My P32 and 9mm P11 have been excellent for self defense and it's a fault of mine, not the performance of the pistol that I can't feel more confidence in it for cc.. I have a Seecamp LWS32 and it is without a doubt the Rolex of the bunch.. I can't say that it can do very much better than the excellent NAA Guardian and my KT PT32, but it exudes quality, functions perfectly, and the line has an excellent reputation for reliability over two decades. I have complete confidence in the Seecamp in that it will send 7 gold dots downrange anytime I need it to. It's "just smaller enough" to conceal easier than any of the others, and in a GURU rear wallet holster it's about as close to perfect for cc as a mousegun can get. The price of the Seecamp and the NAA Guardian are very close, while both are more pricy than the KelTec. I wouldn't buy a Beretta anything anymore after finding out what a bunch of buttholes work in Customer Service. YMMV.. If I were to try and compare the three in watch terms, I'd say the KelTec would be the Timex.. The Guardian would be the Citizen, and the Seecamp would be the Rolex.. All three pistols I think would serve you well for cc, but sometimes it's just fun to have the best... http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a73/Laserlips/100_6811_01.jpg The first time my wife held my Seecamp she wanted it for herself.. Didn't happen, but I did get her one of her own, and she loves it. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a73/Laserlips/100_6909.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a73/Laserlips/100_6820.jpg Just personal opinion based on the particular pistols I had or have... +1 on the Seecamp. I have three of them, 2-.32lws and a .380 LWS. They are both the same size and fit easily in a front pocket holster. The 380 is a handful to shoot and can be a bit painful on the trigger finger without a bandaid or something to cushion the trigger guard. I practice with the 32 and carry the 380 everyday. SC |
