After much thought I've decided to make a few changes to my Glock 23.  After seeing an article in Combat Handguns about a Glock that was modified by Robar Guns, my mind was made up.  Yesterday I mailed my slide to Robar where they are going to mill forward cocking serrations on it.  Once the serrations are milled, the slide will need to be refinished.  I like black, so it will be off to Birdsong Ent for their Black-T finish.  I've used Birdsong several times in the past for AR barrels and their work is top notch.  I sent the frame to Lone Wolf where they will make a slight modification to accept their round magazine release.  My hands are small and fall way short of the factory mag release.  Once I get the frame back I will send it out to Coldbore Custom to have the grip reduced, finger humps removed, trigger guard rounded, and carry texture applied.  The serrated trigger will be swapped out with a smooth one.  To finish things off I will install a set of 10-8 performance sights with trittium up front and U-notch rear.  Other than the trigger, no changes will be made to the guts of the pistol.  Glocks seem to be most reliable with factory parts and I decided early on that reliability would be top priority.  The lead times at Robar and Birdsong are several weeks, so the project will take a while.  Pictures will be up as soon as I see progress.

Why did you not let ROBAR do all the work? the do a fine job on all 3 from all I have read.

I prefer Cold Bore Customs grip reductions over ROBARs.  Lane Owens heats the backstrap and reshapes it where ROBAR fills the backstrap and sands through the factory plastic.  He also stipples the grip with a soldering iron as opposed to using a painted on texture that could chip off.  I chose Birdsong Enterprises for the refinishing because of my experience with them and they are WAY cheaper that ROBARs NP3 finish.
