Schofield. The military had them for a while. They issued a special 45 round in brass shorter than the Colt so it could be fired in this or in the Colt. The 45 Colt ammo brass was too long for the Schofield. This is how the term '45 Long Colt' got started. The company making modern reproductions made one for 45 LC but to do so removed design features which then allowed BP fouling to jam the gun after only a few shots. |

Pictured gun is not a schofield likely a 38 S&W ( not special) or 32 S&W five shot. Clear enlarged pictures with clear markings and numbers ( don’t pull that black out the serial number BS when trying to ID an old gun!) |
