I like it and the wilsons were a good touch but why change from the mc operator name just for adding a different color a funnel and better mags. Colt has 3 rail guns all a bit different but they are still rail guns. Sig does this alot. It's the same old "It's just every other one, only different" thing. I guess if it works for coins and baseball cards it should work for guns too. I can think of a few examples. |

It was built to the specs of the Long Beach Police Department. Nice looking 1911, OP. Thanks for sharing and making me want one! |
I love my 2012 LB Operator here:
This thing is bad to the bone all blacked out, got the big grey box like yours and the two black ETM's as well. Looks great along side of my TRP Operator. Now just need an MC operator to get that no magwell look. Oh yeah and here's a little tid bit from the City of Long Beach's gov't files that you asked for :) : City of Long Beach file #08-0283 BTW, I printed out this full report for poops n giggles and slipped the info in the box with the rest of the papers, cool info. |

So as I was saying.... it's all cosmetic... thanks for confirming that. Only ARFCOM can turn a picture thread into a pissing contest.
Yes, if you sent your MC to Springfield they could add a mag funnel for $140, Armory Kote the frame for $80, put G10 grips on it for $50, and sell you two Wilson magazines for $60. In the end you would have a gun that looks similar, kind of like painting the trigger on your shotgun gold transforms it into a Belgian made Sweet 16. In other news, if you change the ILS out, change the grips, change the sights, and put in some tool steel parts, it makes a GI model the same as a WWII Remington-Rand. Fuckin ARFCOM. ![]() Just ignore it man. I liked reading about it and seeing what you have. |
| Ummm it's still all add ons, and please don't think you have a trp grade gun because the armorykote is black... if your using the logic that it's rare because of what's on it.... then we all have super rare guns..... no one has the same serial numbers oooooooh |

| I never said it was common. Look through my replies if you will.. what I am going to reinforce is the fact that it is just a MC spruced up with different color and add on parts. Oh and if your wondering the "pecking" order..... it's pretty much just a S.A. loaded internally fit wise, just with a railed frame. |
| is there a label with model number on the box?? that'd be the fastest way to determine what it is. and as far as parts goes, they are: factory SA magwell, and G10 material grips(possibly davidson warthogs or vz diamondback.. or who ever SA has contracted the grips to) |

I think px9105 is the mc operator, with the cosmetic changes required by the long beach pd they added the the llp to it. I dont think anyone is knocking your purchase, hell I like the colors better than the green.
would have been nice to see the front strap checkered but it is still a sharp pistol either way enjoy it. the only point I was ever trying to make is that it was a mc operator with a few cosmetic differences but never did I say there was anything wrong with it. I like it. |

I like it. I would prefer the checkered front stap as well. I never meant to imply that this gun is "better" only that it is an uncommon factory model. |

I carry the LBO everyday. The gun is a MC Operator, black frame, black G-10 grips, mag well, 18 lb recoil spring, pinned ejector, and a GI spring guide and plug. Not as much work goes into it as does a TRP. Thanks for the info. Do you know how these guns have been holding up for the city? I heard that they had a bunch of issues with the LDA Paras. |

IIRC there was one in the EE not to long ago
eta- here tis Sir James... |

Here is a response that I got from Springfield.
Good morning Rock71, Our newest model PX9105LLP is based on the MC Operator with a few changes. It has an added 2pc magwell, is all black Armory Kote, has G10 grips, an 18.5lb recoil spring for hotter LE loads and comes with 2 – 8rd Mec-Gar magazines. The suggested officer price is $1316.00. It was originally spec’ed out by Long Beach PD and became so popular we had to make it a regular item. Merry Christmas!
