I handled a LW Commander this weekend at a gun shop and let me say this thing felt great.....my question is does the aluminum frame hold up? I know they have been around a long time, but are there any issues with he frame reliability and do you recommend one....
Thanks, 77Bronc |

Both my LW Commanders are carried more than shot but I researched this before buying either. I found a lot of older Colts with thousands of rounds down the pipe and no noticable wear. I also know Kimber ran 20,000 rounds through one of theirs without damage.
I have no doubt they will wear faster than a steel frame but I can't see it mattering unless you shoot one regularly for years in competition. I also suggest using mags with captured followers (like Tripp, Wilson, ACT, or Checkmate) to protect the feed ramp. |
