What high capacity magazines are reliable with the Beretta model 92FS? Other than the factory ones that are like 100 bucks or more per pop.

Mec-Gar is the major OEM maker, I would look for magazines under their name. You might also want to check for surplus military mags.

You mean standard capacity magazines?

Pro-mag are some I use, virtually anything BUT USA brand is ok. Obviously you'll want to test them before you use them for carry.

asian contract mags are pretty good.  if you slam a mag in with the slide locked back, though, it sometimes doesn't cause the slide to shut, and sometimes a round will pop out of the magazine and face straight up if you smack it in hard enough.

but other than that, they seem to function like factory.

edit:  and factory 92 mags only cost $35-40.  check the EE here and at thehighroad.org, and check www.gunbroker.com too.

$ 100 a pop? Try $ 35ish on the equipment exchange here. look under handgun magazines and parts.
I've had good look with asian military which are cheaper than that.
My USAs work fine, though they do make me nervous because their other magazines are so crappy.
Eagles don't eject from my 92
The no name mags I got from CDNN did not work.
My ramline works fine but something in it rattles when the gun moves around.

I agree USA mags suck but they work just fine the ones they make for the beretta

I have bought several factory Beretta mags right here on the equipment exchange for $30-$40 in excellent shape.  I bought a few promags when I was new, but once you've compared their quality to the quality of factory mags, I bet you will find the OEM's worth the extra money.
