I'm thinking about buying this pistol but I don't know anything about Brownings and the owner of it knows even less. I'm wanting to be fair with him as he's a good friend and it was left to him by a relative.

The gun shoots and functions flawlessly. I don't know how old it is but it was a lot of holster wear marks on it.

The following markings are on the gun-

Browning FN 9mm HP
Inglis Canada
Mk1

It also has quite a few stamps on it that appear to be Asian.

Any idea on age and or what a fair price for it is?

Oh it's old, likely 50's or so and if your going to keep it you should invest in finding a spare extractor and re-spring it.  If you lucky Mr. SubMoa with come along and give you its history as he is a walking Browning Wikipedia.

Seems to be in really nice condition too.

I'd say WW2 issue, possibly one loaned to Chinese forces/guerillas fighting the Japanese

Should have the cut for the shoulder stock/holster
